Raikkonen Understands The Bullshit

In the eyes of Kimi Raikkonen noting much has changed in Formula 1, but the 2007 world champion just understand all the bullshit a lot better.

The Finn left F1 at the end of the 2009 season after he and Ferrari opted to part ways with the Italian team paying him off. He made his F1 comback this season, racing for Lotus with whom he's already secured five podium finishes.

Raikkonen's talent definitely hasn't faded away and neither has his attitude towards the sport especially when asked the same questions over and over.

Speaking to Totalrace.br, the 32 year old Lotus driver said: "Nothing has changed for me. Okay the team is different. It's great to be here at Lotus. This team is more peaceful. They want to win but the mood is different from other teams. I have no complaints."

Asked if the Finn could stay away from the media, the Iceman laughed and said: "These are the same questions! Nothing has changed. I know what happens in F1. I've been here long enough to understand the bullshit surrounding the sport. People try to create stories. I don't care. Sometimes good, sometimes not, but I don't worry about it. You have to work at your job and stop looking at this kind of thing as it will probably make you angry which doesn't help. I live my own life as relaxed as possible."

Raikkonen concedes that sponsorship events and the media are all part of the game. "Everyone knows that driving is just part of the job and of course for us is the principal part. But there are other things, because there is big money involved in the sport so it's not surprising. People are more of less the same, we go to other places but the races are more or less the same," he added.
