The 2013 FIA Prize-Giving Gala in France honoured winners and champions from around the world on Friday. The annual Gala event was given a
spectacular opening in Paris in the evening, with the world premiere of a
new short film ("The Heist of the Century") by renowned French film director Luc Besson.
Supported by incredible performances by glamorous dancers of the famous Moulin Rouge throughout the evening, the show saw champions from every major branch of international motor
sport gather together to receive their awards at the Cité du Cinéma.
Among the many champions of 2013, Infiniti Red Bull Racing and Sebastian Vettel were officially crowned as this year's Formula 1 champions, receiving the Drivers’ and Constructors’ trophies for the fourth consecutive season. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and outgoing F1 driver Mark Webber were also present to collect their awards for finishing in second and third place respectively.
"When I think of the times I’ve experienced with the team over the last few years, it’s incredible," four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel said. "It’s a pleasure to jump in the car each weekend and to try and give
it all I have. I’m pushing very hard along with the team and what makes
us strong is that we love what we do and we’re passionate about racing."
"This year was not an easy season, but to overcome that and give the
answer on the track makes me very proud. I don’t have words to describe
how incredible it is to retain the Drivers’ Championship for another
year, I would like to say a huge thank you to the team and everyone who
supported me."
